1,5-Anhydro-2,3-dideoxy-D-erythro-hex-2-enitol 4,6-Diacetate is used in the synthesis of novel tetrahydropyran-based dipeptide isosters, used towards the synthesis of topoisomerase inhibitors. Also used in the synthesis of D-allosamine derivatives.
