Ethylenediamine-N,N,NтАЩ,NтАЩ-tetraacetic Acid (EDTA) is a powerful chelating agent; EDTA forms stable complexes with most metal ions. EDTA is used in treatment of lead and heavy metal poisoning of farm animals.
